The fear of rejection is undoubtedly real. The crushing feeling of embarrassment and receiving a 'no' can be terrifying. We get it. However, here are some reasons you should do it anyway:

  1. You'll become a braver version of yourself - Every time you do something that scares you, you're pushing yourself out of your comfort zone.
  2. Focus on what you'll gain - There are always going to be reasons to not do it. However, you need to focus on only one thing - the reason you should be doing it!
  3. Weigh out the pros and cons - What's the worst thing that would happen if you get rejected? How different would your life be if things actually work out? Understand the consequences of your decision before making it.
  4. Consider walking away- Imagine you decided to not take the risk. As bad as rejection may feel, letting go may feel ever worse!
  5. Think about what you'd tell your best friend - We'd probably say 'what's there to lose' as we won't have to face the feelings that come with rejection. But that's what we need to tell ourselves! The opportunity might be much bigger than your temporary feelings.
  6. Check who's voice is really holding you back - Is it from an old environment/ toxic person that no longer serves you? Don't let old beliefs about what you 'should' be doing hold you back.
  7. Trust your strength - If you do get rejected, you’ll get back up.

Instead of wondering, "What if I fail? ", entertain the thought "what if I fly?"
