  • Excessive salt consumption
  • High intake of saturated and trans fat
  • Low intake of fruits and vegetables
  • Lack of any physical activity
  • Consumption of tobacco and alcohol

Common symptoms

Most people with this disease are often unaware of it. Mainly because it has negligible warning symptoms:

  • Irregular heart rhythms
  • Early morning headaches
  • Nosebleeds
  • Vision changes
  • Buzzing in the ear
  • Chest pain
  • Muscle tremors

Hypertension is also a major cause of premature deaths worldwide. It can also cause strokes and kidney failures in severe cases. Here are few ways to prevent it:

  • Regular blood pressure checks
  • Reduction of salt intake (less than 5g daily)
  • Avoiding tobacco
  • Reducing alcohol consumption
  • More intake of fruits and veggies
  • Regular physical activity
  • Limited intake of saturated and trans fats
